Congress eyes to strengthen booth level force through technology driven ‘Shakti’

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the crucial 2019 elections, the Odisha Congress unit is now mulling to strengthen its women voters base through the ambitious ‘Shakti’ initiative.

The project, christened as “Shakti”, is aimed at knowing the Congress workers, their ideas and views and in gathering feedback directly from the grassroots level.

Moreover, the one can directly interact with party high command including AICC president Rahul Gandhi and other office bearers.

With the launch of the special initiative in Odisha, party workers can directly communicate with Rahul Gandhi via phone call, text, video, etc. Besides, the workers can easily know about party events, informed State Women Congress president, Sasmita Behera.

Behera further informed that discussions on several women related issues like empowerment, and how women are presently suffering harassment will be discussed at the executive meeting of the Women Congress.

Moreover, a blue print will also be prepared on the party’s modus operandi for tacking such issues before the general elections scheduled for next year.

Similarly, decision on 33 percent reservation of women during the upcoming polls is likely to be discussed in the meeting today.

The new initiative will surely strengthen our party prospects in the coming days. Hopefully we can tackle critical issues like harassment against women, empowerment and others.
