Krushnaprasad: Normal life was thrown out of gear in Krushnaprasad block in Puri on account of a bandh called by Congress demanding arrest of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare minister Sanjay Dasburma for his alleged links with scam-tainted chit fund company Artha Tatwa, irregularities in ration card distribution and Phailin assistance.

Shops and business establishments were shut across the town while vehicular movement came to a grinding halt. Similary, Boat services in the block were also hampered.

Congress activists were seen picketing across various parts of the block. However, no untoward incidents were reported during the stir.

On March 21, Congress had called a bandh in Brahmagiri demanding arrest of Dasburma for having accepted a vehicle allegedly gifted by Artha Tatwa owner Pradeep Sethi.

In retaliation, the youth and students' wing of BJD took out a bike rally from Brahmagiri to Cuttack, where they submitted a memorandum to DGP and demanded the arrest of Congress leader Lalatendu Bidyadhar (Lulu) Mohaptra, who has leveled serious charges against Dasburma.

Notably, while charging Dasburma with having links with scam-tainted Artha Tatwa, senior Congress leader Lulu Mohapatra had alleged that the minister had received a Pajero SUV from the Ponzi company as a gift..
