Cuttack: After a long wait, the city bus service is finally set to begin from tomorrow here.

The service scheduled to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will travel from the Biju Patnaik park in Cuttack to AG square in Bhubaneswar. In the first phase, ten busses will travel in one route. Earlier the service was scheduled to begin from Sunday in three routes but was changed in the last moment.

“We had informed the media persons through telephone calls yesterday that the busses will not ply from 15th but it will be traveling from 16th of this month. And on 17th all the denizens of Cuttack can travel free by the city buses run by Dream Team Sahara”, said CEO of Dream Team Sahara Sudhansu Jena.

Notably, Dream Team Sahara which is operating the bus service had filed an affidavit before the High court to run buses from Sunday.

Hence, the passengers were waiting at various stoppages as they didn’t have any information regarding the postponement of the service and were resented.

“Dream Team Sahara had earlier filed an affidavit before the High court that it will commence the service from 15th May but it was very unfortunate that it could not ply”, said a petitioner Subas Singh.
