Cuttack: With the city bus service operator Dream Team Sahara (DTS) declaring May 15 to start service in the silver city, the long wait for the service seems to come to an end.
In an affidavit filed by the DTS in the Orissa High court, it said that the city bus service in the city will begin from May 15. It mentioned that it requires 10 days for all necessary arrangements for the smooth functioning of the bus service. Appointment of drivers, identification of bus stoppages and terminals and preparation of routes would take some time, it said. While there is no provision for new buses for the time being, buses of the Puri-Bhubaneswar route will be extended.

Earlier, the High court had ordered to start the service by May 01 in the city which could not be materialized yet. On the other hand, political parties and voluntary organizations have threatened to take to the streets if the service doesn’t start soon in the city.
