Bhubaneswar: An eight-member Central team led by Joint Secretary in the Home Ministry Gopal Krishna Dwivedi has visited cyclone affected areas of the State to conduct a spot assessment of the damages.

The team has been divided into two groups. Team-A has visited affected areas in Koraput and Malkangiri districts while another team is assessing losses in Gajapati and Raygada districts. After assessment of losses, the central team will review the relief and rehabilitation work. The team will discuss with Collectors and other administrative officials regarding the damages.

It will have an interaction with the chief secretary on Wednesday afternoon after returning from the Hudhud hit areas.

Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley at New Delhi on November 5 had demanded an interim assistance of Rs 500 crore for the cyclone
