CB to probe ITR espionage case
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police’s Crime Branch (CB) today took charge of the investigations into the alleged links of Ishwar Chandra Behera, the casual lensman with Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur, with an agent of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.
Informing about the development, CB ADG B.K. Sharma said a three-member team has already been sent to Balasore which will take custody of the lensman, who is at present in seven-day remand of Balasore district police.
Behera was arrested on January 23 for allegedly passing secret information to the ISI conduit. The police have framed treason and criminal conspiracy charges against Behera, said sources.
