Cash tucked in media kit: BJP stages protest in front of Puri temple

Bhubaneswar: Members of Sachetan Nagarik Manch, Puri, on Thursday gheraoed the Sea Beach Police Station demanding action against those who are responsible for the presence of money in the press kit of mediapersons.

BJP workers also staged a protest in front of the Simha Dwara of the Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri and burnt effigies of MLA and MP of Puri.

Meanwhile, Sea Beach police started its probe into the case and questioned some mediapersons, who were present in the press conference, UCO bank authorities and staff of the hotel where the meet was organized.

“We have received two FIRs, one from a group of 15 journalists and another from Sachetan Nagarik Manch, Puri in connection with recovery of Rs 200 each from the kit of reporters and camera persons,” said Pravas Chandra Sahu, IIC of the police station.
