Jeypore: A police case has been registered against Congress' Koraput MLA, Krishna Chandra Sagaria for allegedly making caustic remarks about a particular religion.

According to sources, a case has been registered against four persons including Sagaria at Laxmipur police station on the basis of a complaint filed by social activist, Gangadhara Nanda.

On the other hand, Sagaria said some members of Congress and RSS might have hatched a conspiracy against him following which a police case has been registered. He also pointed fingers towards Jeypore MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati alleging his involvement in the matter.

"Bahinipati is hatching a conspiracy. He took VHP and RSS people to the dais and introduced them to PCC chief Niranjan Patnaik. I have informed Congress President Rahul Gandhi through an email. Besides, I met Odisha in-charge of Congress Jitendra Singh and apprised him about the matter. They should seek an explanation from Bahinipati."

Refuting the charges Bahinipati stated, "I have never spoken against Sagaria. Instead he has spoken against me on various occasions. If he thinks I have conspired it is unfortunate and the allegations are false. I am also not attached to VHP, RSS or BJP."

Recently Sagaria and his entire family, including three brothers, had embraced Buddhism at a special function held at Burja village under Laxmipur block in Koraput.
