Bhubaneswar: The Odisha unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today filed a case at the SDJM court in Bhubaneswar demanding the arrest of various government officials in connection with the recent Bomikhal flyover tragedy.

BJP leader, Jagannath Pradhan registered the case on behalf of the party and demanded the arrest of the chief engineer, superintendent engineer, executive engineer and assistant engineer of the Public Works department.

BJP also alleged that only the contractor has been arrested while the government officials responsible for the tragedy have been given the charge of investigating the case.

"Not only Panda Infra owner, but also government officials including Works department chief engineer, superintendent engineer, executive engineer and assistant engineer are equally responsible for the Bomikhal tragedy. They should also be arrested. So we have filed a 1 CC case in the court today," said Odisha BJP general secretary, Dilip Mohanty.

The hearing of the case has been scheduled for May 14, informed sources,

Since May 8, BJP has launched a hunger strike under the flyover and had also filed an FIR at Laxmisagar Police Station.
