Youth Cong president quizzed by CBI; party sees red
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Youth Congress president Rajat Choudhary appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today. According to sources, Rajat is suspected to have been summoned by the central investigation agency in connection with the Artha Tatwa chit fund scam.
It is learnt that Rajat was questioned by the CBI for over three hours. Rajat’s wife also appeared before the CBI. Notably, Rajat had appeared before the CBI in connection with the Artha Tatwa chit fund scam earlier too.
Meanwhile, BJD took this opportunity to question Congress’ on moral grounds.
“The youth Congress president has been questioned by the CBI not once, but thrice. Congress has been blowing the ‘resignation-on-moral-grounds’ trumpet over a mere notice to Dasburma. We are eager to see what action it initiates against Rajat,” said BJD spokesperson Pratap Deb.
“I have earlier said that if the youth Congress president is found guilty, then action should definitely be taken. This is a ploy to create disturbances and divert attention from tomorrow’s program,” said Congress leader Lulu Mohapatra in retaliation.
Meanwhile, Odisha Congress chief Prasad Harichandan trained his guns on CBI saying that the investigating agency must clarify the reason behind the interrogation of Student Cong leader.
