Cuttack: Like every year, Biju Patnaik Film & Television Institute of Odisha (BPFTIO), Cuttack is celebrating World Cinema day on December 28 and 29 on its campus. The inaugural function was held on Thursday in presence of many well known personalities like acclaimed director and cinematographer AK Bir, veteran Odia actor Debu Bose and Odia author Devdas Chhotray.
“I want to congratulate everyone associated with the cinema industry on this auspicious occasion. We are looking forward to develop the infrastructure here at BPFTIO,” said Balwant Singh, Director, Directorate of Technical Education and Training.
This year films and documentaries by A.K Bir are being screened and the students of the institute are getting an opportunity to interact with the veteran director.
Speaking to odishatv.in, AK Bir said, “I like to congratulate each and everyone connected on the occasion of celebrating World Cinema. Very good to see and interact with young minds trying to get into this industry.”
Many notable alumni of the institution were equally excited to come back to their institution once again and get a chance to share their knowledge and experience with the students.
“I feel proud to have graduated from this institution and very happy to be here once again and meet one of the stalwarts of our field, AK Bir,” said National Award winner Shibu Prusty.
This two-day event on World Cinema Day will conclude on Friday.
