Bhubaneswar: The vigilance sleuths on Thursday grilled Kishore Chandra Gouda, the father-in-law Motilal Gouda in connection with the latter’s alleged involvement in the Rs 88 lakh fake gazette notification scam.
Sources said the sleuths interrogated Kishore for about three hours.
“They (vigilance officials) asked me about if know about the activities of my son-in-law. They also wanted to know if my daughter is involved in the unlawful activities committed by Motilal. I responded to their queries according to my knowledge,” Kishore said.
Currently Motilal is lodged in Jharpada jail after his bail petition was rejected by court. The Crime Branch had arrested Gouda from Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh.
In the fake notification issued in October, 2015, Motilal had asked industries in the State to get the health check-ups of their staff done at one of the five ’empanelled’ pathology laboratories. Based on this notification, he even managed to sign a contract with Navaratna PSU Nalco for Rs 63 lakh.
