Cuttack: With the whole country immersed in cash crunch, roadside vendors in the Millennium City have come a step forward by offering online payment option to their cutomers.
Asutosh Parida, owner of a variety store named- Azad Solution near ABIT College in Chandinchowk area here in the town, has started selling his items using Paytm.
“With the demonitisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes and shortage of cash at ATMs, I have adopted to receive payment through Paytm,” Parida said adding that, “I have linked my Paytm with my bank account. I can transfer the cash in my Paytm wallet to my bank account whenever I want.”

Asked about ease of accepting payment through the digital platform, Parida said, “As I run my shop near an engineering college, so most of my customers are college students who are very friendly with online payment options.”
“Besides with the increasing use of smart phones and internet, there are no hassles in receiving payments via Paytm,” Parida stated.

Amulya Ram, a customer to the shop, said, “Amid the cash crunch in the wake of demonetisation, making payment through Paytm is a great option. Now a days, everyone is using smart phone and internet. So making online payment is not a great deal.”
