Puri: Police arrested six persons today in connection with the ransacking of the Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) on August 17 night following the death of a patient.

Irate over this, four senior doctors of the hospital had given conditional resignation protesting frequent occurrence of such vandalism at the hospital. The four warned that they would not join their duty until they are provided with round-the-clock security. However, they resumed their duty after a discussion with Additional Collector, Sub-Collector, Additional SP and CDMO.
Meanwhile, doctors at the DHH called off their cease-work stir on Thursday after SP Sarthak Sarangi assured them of round-the-clock security.
