Post-poll violence: UU authorities ask students to vacate hostel

Bhubaneswar: Utkal University authorities today asked the students to vacate hostel by 5 pm today after post-poll violence continued to prevail in the premises of the varsity.

While the students of the varsity have been asked to vacate the boy’s hostel by 5 pm, the girl students have been asked to leave their hostel by 4 pm today, PG council chairman Ranjan Bal told the media here today.

Notably, tension continued in the premises of the university after three students sustained injures in a clash between two students groups on Thursday night after the poll results were declared in the afternoon.

Following the tension, five platoons of police force have been deployed in the campus.
