Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) will conduct the matriculation examination for dropout students in the State under the open school system from April 11.
Official sources said as many as 2,980 aspirants are appearing in the nine-day test.
“This year, 17 centres have been set up in seven districts of the State including Cuttack, Angul, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Kalahandi and Bolangir. Each examination centre would act as a nodal centre and it will be under 24×7 security,” BSE president Dakshya Prasad Nanda said.
“The candidates have been advised to collect their admit cards from their respective centres four days before the commencement of the test,” Nanda stated.
The aspirants will get nine attempts tests in five years to clear the examination.
The aim of the test is to help the students complete education till Class 10 and get them a high school certificate in distance mode through State Institute of Open Schooling (SIOS).
In order to enroll in these open schools the students should have passed 7th class and should be below 14 years.
