Naveen’s address to poll observers on campaign strategies

Bhubaneswar:  With a fortnight to go for the three-tier panchayat polls in the State beginning February 13, the ruling BJD, in a bid to register a thumping win in the poll will discuss campaign strategies with district and block-level poll observers.

Chief minister Naveen Patnaik will address the gathering at Naveen Niwas this morning.

Party sources said as many as 126 poll observers are scheduled to participate in the meet which will also be attended by senior party members.

Party insiders said focus of Friday’s meet will be on ‘special strategies’ for regions where the party’s organization structure is weak. “Also we need to see that our party candidates must win with a big margin to win confidence of voters on BJD,” said a senior member of BJD.

Poll analysts feel, since the regional party is in the back foot for several issues in the State including Dana Majhi incident, it will chalk out plans to counter the strategies of the Opposition parties.
