Medico harassment case: SCB official claims matter settled amicably
Cuttack: While the investigation into the case lodged by a 4th year MBBS girl student of SCB Medical College in Cuttack is on, the college authorities today claimed that the matter has been settled amicably by both parties after discussions.
According to the administrative officer of the college, Pratap Mishra, a decision to settle the matter amicably was taken at the internal disciplinary committee meeting of the institution. According to the official, both parties along with the parents of the girl student who lodged a police complaint were present at the meeting and presented their case.
Both the parties agreed not to drag the matter forward and discussions were held to ensure such incidents are not repeated in future, the official said.
“We have had a discussion on the matter and it was decided that both parties won’t take the matter forward and agreed that they will settle the matter mutually. The students have also agreed to convene a meeting among them to ensure that such cases do not happen in future,” said Mishra.
“The matter has been settled amicably after discussions between both the parties. The students have realized their faults and in the interest of the student community as well as the institution the matter has been settled,” said the victim girl’s guardian.
