Bhubaneswar: In the wake of Chhattisgarh seeking detailed information on Mahanadi water usage from Odisha government, chief minister Naveen Patnaik would hold a meeting of concerned departments before attending the tripartite talks later in the month to solve the issue.
This was informed by BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb.
“The CM will talk to officials of the Water Resources department on the water usage of Mahanadi river. The officials have been asked to prepare the complete data available with them,” Deb said.
Official sources said, the Centre in a recent letter to the State government has asked it to join the tripartite talks scheduled to be held where officials of Odisha and Chhattisgarh governments and Ministry of Water Resources will be present.
The meeting is expected to be held in New Delhi in the later part of the month.
