First song of Budhia Singh’s biopic an ode to his Odia roots
Bhubaneswar: The first song of wonder boy Budhia Singh’s biopic – “Budhia Singh: Born to Run” – is an unabashed ode to his Odia roots. Odia phrases are used liberally in the song, which is sung by’India’s Raw Star’ winner Rituraj Mohanty. ‘Suna Pua’, ‘Gelha Pua’, ‘Dhana Pua’ are some of the phrases which dot the sound track that buttresses its Odia roots, though the film is being produced in Hindi and in Bollywood.
The song is picturised on acclaimed Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee, who plays Budhia’s coach Biranchi Das and Mayur Mahendra, the child star who plays Budhia in the film.
Directed by Soumendra Padhi, “Budhia Singh – Born To Run” is a biopic about Budhia Singh, who ran 48 marathons — one of which was from Puri to Bhubaneswar when he was still a few months shy of five.
Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Code Red Film Productions, the film stars Tillotama Shome and Master Mayur as well.
“Budhia Singh – Born To Run” will hit the screens on August 5.
