Puri: A forensic team accompanied by a dog squad reached the Puri Railway Station today to inspect the coach of the military train where a cooking gas cylinder had reportedly exploded yesterday.
Railways SP Bana Bihari Sahoo also reached the spot to take stock of the situation. He informed that the train had arrived at Puri railway station from Delang at around 4 pm yesterday for cleaning purpose.
The train was stationed at platform no-2 of the railway station when its pantry car caught fire due to an explosion, suspected to have caused by cooking gas cylinder.
Such was the impact of the explosion that window panes of adjacent Puri-Tirupati Express were also shattered.
Immediately after the incident, Station Superintendent and Manager along with personnel of Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police searched the train thoroughly.
