Abdur Rehman produced before Salepur court
Bhubaneswar: Terror suspect Abdur Rehman was produced before the the Salepur JMFC court today by Delhi Police. Abdur was to Odisha by the Delhi Police. According to sources, after being produced before the court, Rehman will be taken back to Delhi.
Sources informed that Rehman has been lodged in Malgodown Police Station amid tight security.
Rehman was earlier brought to Odisha by the STF of Crime Branch from Delhi’s Tihar Jail to be questioned over his links in Odisha and the source of the financial assistance he received to run a Madarssa.
Notably, a joint team of Odisha Police and Delhi Police Special Cell had arrested the 37-year-old cleric from Cuttack district for his alleged links with terrorist organisation Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) in December last year. Rehman was running a madrassa at Tangi, 25 km from Cuttack, for the past two years and had appointed five teachers.
