BJP targets Odisha govt; seeks answers on host of issues
Bhubaneswar: In-charge of Odisha BJP Arun Singh today targeted the Odisha government and sought reply on a host of issues which reflects the government’s callousness and incompetence.
Ahead of the Panchayat Polls, Singh slammed the ruling BJD asking why the beneficiaries are deprived of the ration cards? Why farmers are not getting right price in paddy procurement? Why the poor is not getting Pucca houses? Why drinking water supply is only at 2 percent? Why hospitals don’t have doctors and adequate staff? Why medicines are not available to patients? Why electrification is not being done for every village? Why educated youth is taking up daily labour?; and how many chit fund companies have faced actions?
Singh also asked the State government about who is responsible for corruption at Panchayat level.
Moreover, the BJP leader also alleged that the Congress is knee-deep in corruption and is implicitly supporting the ruling BJD.
“Odisha receives ration for 3.26 crore people and the state government should answer where the funds are going and why poor beneficiaries are not getting ration cards. The chief minister should answer why paddy is not being procured and if procured why farmers are not getting the right price. In the chit fund scam, 8 lakh affidavits were filed, we want to know what action has been taken against the culprits. I feel that somewhere there is a tacit understanding between the deeply corrupted Congress and the misgoverning BJD,” Singh told media persons here.
