Nilagiri/Bhubaneswar: Targeting the state government on various issues including health, education, communication and law and order situation, the State BJP today began its Lajja Satyagrah in all sub divisions in Odisha.
Talking to the media at a sit-in dharna near Mausi Maa temple in Nilagiri in Balasore district, BJP leader Pratap Sarangi said his party has launched Lajja Satyagrah to apprise the people of the state of the gross failure of the BJD government on all fronts.
“We are observing the Lajja Satyagarh against the hypocrites and tyrants who are now ruling Odisha. The people of the state are ashamed all over the world as the state government had failed to provide ambulance van to Dana Majhi for which he had to cover 12 km by foot carrying the body of his wife on his shoulders. But this shameless government still claims that it has provided health services to the people. While the Bahrain prime minister was moved by the plight of Dana Majhi and provided financial assistance to him, the state government is yet to take any specific step to help the poor man”, Sarangi said.
Referring to the sting operation in which four BJD leaders were caught red-handed, he said it is an insult to the democracy.
Talking about the education scenario in the state, Sarangi came down heavily on the state government for its ‘teacher on call’ policy.
“Some of the schools in Odisha have no teachers while most of teachers are found staging dharna in the capital city. The state government has no sympathy for them as it has been betraying them time and again”, he pointed out.
