Balasore: In yet another incident of humiliation for the State, a farmer of Baliapata village in Balasore district allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison on Sunday.
The deceased farmer, identified as Ramachandra Bara, allegedly consumed poison due to his failure to repay loan following crop loss.
According to his family members, Bara ended his life as he was in severe mental stress to repay the loan he had taken for his two-acre land.
Earlier, on March 15, Sudam Khatua of Pakharbada village in the district had allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide over crop loss. While the district administration had claimed family feud as the reason behind Khatua’s drastic step, it is yet to comment on Bara’s death.
