Boat capsizes in Sileru river, 3 missing

Malkangiri: In an unfortunate incident, three persons including the boatman went missing as a country boat in which they were returning home capsized in Sileru river under Chitrakonda tahsil on Tuesday evening.

The tragic incident took place at Kurumanurar Sanasiguda ghat near Kalimela when some passengers were crossing the river from Alurpeta in Andhra Pradesh with PDS rice. The travelers are residents Kondaguda village, sources said.

Till the last report came in, the missing persons have not been identified. The villagers launched a search operation to trace them. Meanwhile, police and fire brigade teams have joined the villagers in rescue operations.
