Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court on Tuesday granted interim bail to senior BJP leader Jayanarayan Mishra on health grounds.

Mishra was arrested on March 15 in connection with the Sohela Banabira firing case in which brother of Labour Minister of Sushant Singh was injured while his driver was killed.

Soon after his arrest, the former minister had accused Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his private secretary V Karthikeyan Pandian of hatching a conspiracy against him.

Jayanarayan had said Odisha CM and Pandian had asked him to join BJD and as he rejected their offer, he is being targeted.

On April 21, Mishra complained of chest pain in Sohela Jail following which he was admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla and later shifted to New Delhi AIIMS as his condition deteriorated.
