Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education department today published the first cut-off list for admission into different streams of Plus-II course in various junior colleges across the State.

According to officials, the admission process will be conducted from July 4 to 8 on the basis of the first selection list this. As expected, BJB Junior College in Bhubaneswar and Ravenshaw Junior College in Cuttack stood top in the cut-off mark list for Science stream recording 90.83 per cent followed by Basic Science College and RD Women’s College at 87.67 per cent and 84.67 per cent cut-off marks respectively. Similarly, in Commerce, the cut-off mark for BJB Junior College was recorded at 79.83 per cent while for Ravenshaw Junior College it was registered at 67.33 per cent.

For Arts stream, BJB Junior College posted the highest cut-off mark at 70.50 percent followed by Ravenshaw Junior College at 69.5 per cent.

Notably, there are around 1,512 Plus-II colleges in the State with an intake capacity of 4,41,220 seats. In the current session, more than 4,50,000 students have passed the matriculation examination in the State, though only 3,82,593 students have applied for Plus-II admissions. Given the better success rate in the matric exams, the department has increased the intake capacity of Plus-II colleges by 10%.
