Bhubaneswar: In an effort to tackle the growing long absences of doctors at work places, the state government has decided to install biometric attendance systems at all district headquarter hospitals. In a meeting of chief district medical officers’ on Monday, health minister Prasanna Acharya said stringent action would be taken against the erring doctors.

The minister has also asked all the CDMOs to submit the list of doctors who were absent from work at their respective places. According to Acharya the state government wanted to streamline the health services in the state. The CDMOs have been asked to take steps to urgently fill up the 600 ANM posts lying vacant in state.
