Bhubaneswar: The Bharat bandh call given by BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and other political parties has thrown normal life out of gear completely disrupting train and bus services in the state on Thursday. The bandh has badly affected the western Odisha passengers waiting to leave for their native places to celebrate Nuakhai by Bhubaneswar-Bolangir Intercity Express which was detained by the protestors at the Bhubaneswar railway station.

Similarly the Sambalpur-Puri Intercity Express has been detained at Angul by agitators.

Hundreds of passengers waiting to board buses for Bolangir, Sundergarh, Sambalpur and other western towns of the state at Barmunda were seen stranded as there were no bus services for the day.

Howrah-Bhubaneswar Jan Shatabdi Express and other goods trains were also stopped by the bandh activists at the Bhubaneswar railway station affecting train services in the route completely.

The bandh effect was also seen in Cuttack with SUCI workers staged demonstration against the Centre
