BEd course duration enhance to two years

Bhubaneswar: With an aim to impart quality education, the National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE) asked the State government to change the duration of Bachelor of Education (BEd) course into two years from next academic session.

Besides, the NCTE has also directed all autonomous colleges in Odisha to offer BEd training programme, higher education minister Pradeep Panigrahi informed to the Assembly yesterday.

Earlier, NCTE had asked the State government regarding this, while the State education department asked for two years of time for implementing the plan citing lack of infrastructure and adequate teachers in all these colleges.
