Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) would examine the documents concerning the illegal construction works by Aryan Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., Urban Development Minister Badri Narayan Patra informed on Friday.

The city-based infrastructure company had allegedly built houses and sold them without the approval of the BDA.

As per reports, BDA is supposed to examine the authenticity of the documents related to the construction and transfer of properties.

The BDA would examine if the company had obtained the required conversion papers and the approval of BDA prior to the construction work. Again, BDA would also look into whether the builders have fulfilled the conditions pertaining to the construction of the houses.

“It is the duty of the buyer to check the authenticity of the land recording before entering into an agreement. The buyer should also check if the land is litigation free or he may suffer later. However, I have asked BDA to look into the matter and the anti-corruption department are also investigating the case,” Urban Development Minister Badri Narayan Patra said.

Meanwhile, Vigilance DG Anup Patnaik revealed today that the houses built under Aryapalli, Aryabhoomi and Aryanilaya projects are illegal. In addition to it, Patnaik alleged that the lands and the houses don’t have legal ownership and the construction work has been done without the approval of BDA.

“The infrastructure company has undervalued the lands. During registration, the company produced forged documents quoting the value of the land to be 10 lakh while original price is around 12 crores,” Vigilance DG Anup Patnaik said.

However, Patniak said that the anti-corruption department is investigating the case and the department is also providing BDA with adequate information in this regard.
