Bhubaneswar: Ranjib Biswal, the ex-cricketer and manager of Indian cricket team, won 2011 World Cup on Thursday has been appointed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as the new Chairman of National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Biswal becomes the first Odia to hold such a prominent post in BCCI. Earlier, Biswal was Vice-Chairman of the Bangalore-based NCA.

BCCI has also picked up Saba Karim as East Zone selector.

In its annual general meeting, BCCI appointed Roger Binny as the new BCCI selection panel head and Sandip Patil as west zone selector.
