Cuttack:  A three-member team headed by DC Director Venkatesh Reddy on Thursday inspected Barabati stadium here and expressed satisfaction over facilities that had hosted two matches for Deccan Chargers against Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab last year in IPL season 3.

Also known as the home ground away from home Vizag, Barabati has proved to be lucky for DC as the team has won both its matches so far. Expressing his satisfaction over the arrangements and an improved infrastructure, the director had a discussion with OCA Chief Ranjib Biswal over their future course of progression.

“We came for an inspection as to how many matches would be scheduled here. The boxes and stands have been improved and the ground has been lucky for us,” Director Reddy said.

Meanwhile, Ranjib Biswal, President of Orissa Cricket Association was delighted and hoped that the venue might get more matches to host in future.

“Barabati has proved itself to be a good venue for IPL matches. I hope it gets chance to host some more matches in future,” said Ranjib Biswal, President OCA.

Last year though the venue hosted two matches, yet Deccan Chargers had to bear monetary loss as audience did not turn up as expected.
