Bhubaneswar: Sarat Patra, a close associate of disgraced self-styled godman Sarathi Baba alias Santosh Raul, on Monday said he will expose the ‘illegal’ activities of the Baba before the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Patra, who was suspended by the school and mass education department for dereliction of duties, appeared before the ED sleuths this morning.
“ED had summoned me to appear before it today. Sarathi Baba is a fraud and I will expose him before the ED officials,” Patra told the media.
Asked about the financial transactions of the Baba through his Barimula ashram’s bank accounts, he said he will tell everything to the media after meeting the ED sleuths.
Though little is known about the recent interrogation of the controversial spiritual leader’s aides, Patra’s statement suggests he has knowledge about the Baba’s dubious financial activities which the ED is after.
On May 30, Sarathi’s brother Devendra Raul was questioned by the ED sleuths.
On June 3, contractor Pradeep Sahu was quizzed on illegal transactions of Satyam Charitable Trust as well as its land deals while two staffs of the ashram– Saroj Rout and Bichitra – were interrogated about the financial activities of the self-styled godman, said sources.
