Bhubaneswar: Odisha unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by anti-corruption crusader Arvind Kejriwal was launched in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

This was the first state level public meeting of Aam Aadmi Party of Odisha chapter which was attended by party’s national executive members and workers across the state at Lower PMG square of the capital city.

“We are continuing with the agitation on political ground aiming at a strong Jan Lokpal bill” said D. Mishra, a party activist.

“The main aim of the party is ‘Swaraj’. We want powers in the hands of the public”, added Mishra.

As of now, the party has constituted committees in 17 districts of the state.

“We are forming committees in all districts of Odisha. The members of the party have already started constituting committees at block-level. And the State committee will be finalized within two days,” said another party member.

‘Aam Aadmi Party’ was launched by anti-corruption activist Arvind Kejriwal on 26 November 2012 at Jantar Mantar in Delhi after his movement with Anna Hazare dissipated in August 2012 with the government ignoring him.
