Nabarangpur: Over 540 Palli Sabha meetings have been held so far under Grama Sabha Sashaktikaran Karjyakrama (GSSK) campaign in Nabarangpur district, official sources said today. A total of 767 Palli Sabha meetings are scheduled to be completed by Friday.

The Palli Sabhas are being organised according to the Gram Panchayat rule and people attending the meetings are giving proposals and suggestions for development works which cover nine departments.

The proposals made in the palli sabha will be placed before Gram Sabha which is scheduled to held in all the 169 Gram Panchayats on October 18 in the district, they said.

It is seen that due to mobilisation and publicity, people's participation so far remained encouraging throughout the district. District Collector Yamini Sarangi said a structured agenda has been circulated for every palli sabha meeting and proposals are being taken up as per the structured agenda.

It is a good sign that a large number of tribal and rural women are participating in the proceedings of palli sabha meetings all over the district, Sarangi said.

Ten district level officers have been appointed as nodal officers for ten blocks of the district to monitor and supervise the palli sabha and gram sabha meetings, she said.

After completion of palli sabha and gram sabha meetings all the finalised proposals and also their annual action plan will be uploaded on the website of Panchayat Raj Department on October 19, she said.

During the GSSK campaign, the district administration is also taking up the summary revision of electoral rolls in the palli sabha meetings.
