Woman, 2 kids burnt to death; hubby detained

Jjapur: In a shocking incident, three persons including an infant were burnt to death in a house, which caught fire last night at Devidwar village in Jajpur district.

The incident took place when Jayanti Sahoo (31) and her seven-year-old son Asis and five month-old baby Sai Sradha were asleep in the room. The trio was taken to nearest hospital where doctors declared them dead.

Meanwhile, preliminary investigation revealed that it is a pre-planned murder case. Somebody poured kerosene before setting them on fire, SDPO said.

Every angle of the case is being investigated, he added. Police detained the husband of Jayanti, Anant Sahoo, on suspicion of being committed the crime as he was not present there when the mishap occurred.
