Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday declared names of 20 Odisha police officers selected to receive President’s Police Medal under several categories.
The cops who will receive President’s medal for gallantry are ASP Brijesh Kumar Ray, sub-inspector Tapan Kumar Nayak & sub-inspector Ranjan Kumar Nayak. Late Resham Bahadur Hamal Thakuri (Havildar) & Late Ranjan Khora (Constable) will receive the medal posthumously, an official statement said.
Similarly IGP Santosh Kumar Upadhyay and IGP Arun Kumar Ray have been chosen for President's Police Medal for Distinguished Services.
The officers who will get Police Medal for Meritorious Service include DIG Dhirendra S Kutey, DIG Sanjay Kumar, Deputy Commandant Bijaya Chandra Pradhan, Deputy Commandant Sukant Acharya, Addl Deputy Commissioner of Police Radhanath Mohapatra, DSP (CID) Santosh Kumar Patnaik, DSP (Vigilance) Sunil Kumar Senapati, OSAP ASP Kailash Nath Nayak, SI (CID) Sarveshwar Malla, Havildar Ratnakar Singh and Constable Ratnakar Behera.
For correctional services Jajpur Road sub-jail Superintendent Sunaram Singh and Puri district probation officer Pradeep Kumar will be honoured, the statement added.
