Bhubaneswar: Two persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of six of a family in Lahanda village under Joda police limits of Keonjhar district on suspicion of practising sorcery on Sunday night.

Crime Branch ADG B.K. Sharma told media that a big group is involved in the killings and seven persons involved in the ghastly crime have been identified. Sharma added efforts are on to nab the other accused.

A three-member team of State Forensic Laboratory has visited the spot to collect evidence.

Meanwhile, the village has worn a deserted look as the police have launched a manhunt to arrest the accused. The State police have put the murder case under red-flag category.

Two relatives of the deceased, who were present in the house on the fateful day, were also attacked and are undergoing treatment in a local hospital.
