2 abandoned children rescued from Angul bus terminal

Angul: Two minor children including a girl were rescued from the Angul bus terminal by locals today. It is suspected that family members could have abandoned the minor children because of poverty.

The children, who are believed to siblings, were rescued after they were found crying near the bus stand.

According to sources, the children were handed over to police following which they have been kept under the supervision of Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

“Both minors are now considered as missing children. An advertisement will soon be published in newspapers and if no claimant is found, then subsequent steps will be taken for their adoption after one month,” said district child protection officer, Gaurishankar Behera.
