Thane: A middle-aged woman was arrested for allegedly running a flesh trade business and pushing a woman from West Bengal into it, police said today.

One - Rakesh lured a 25-year-old woman from Midnapore district in West Bengal by promising to marry her and getting her a job in Mumbai and brought her to Thane. He allegedly sold her off to a couple engaged in flesh trade in Ulhasnagar township of the district, inspector Chandrakant Deskhmukh of Vitthalwadi police station said.

Later, the woman and her husband reportedly harassed the victim to indulge in flesh trade following which she managed to escape from there and lodged a complaint with Vitthalwadi police station.
Based on her complaint, police arrested Pooja Tare (40) yesterday and booked all the three under various sections of IPC.

Meanwhile, search for Pooja`s husband Hanumant and Rakesh was on, they said, adding that a police team has also been sent to West Bengal in search of the duo.
