Gaya: A Block Education Officer (BEO) was today arrested by Bihar Vigilance Bureau from Mainpur block office in Gaya district, officials said.

Acting on a complaint from Manoj Chowdhary, vigilance sleuths raided the block office and caught Gopal Prasad Singh red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs 8000. The BEO had allegedly sought the bribe for payment of Chowdhary`s arrears as Tola sevak.

He was being brought to Patna for production before a special vigilance court here.
