New Delhi: Three youths were arrested here for allegedly murdering their friend who refused to go along with them to commit crime, police said on Tuesday. Nazim (25), Asif (22) and Arif (21) were apprehended for allegedly murdering Abid in Welcome area of north-east Delhi on December 23, DCP (North-East) Sanjay Kumar Jain said.

"When they approached their friend Shakil to commit a crime, he refused to go with them as he was tired of going to jails and decided to quit the world of crime for his family. They then put their proposal to Shakil`s brother-in-law Abid but he also refused and stated that he had done Jamat (holy activity) and as such left the path of crime," he said.

The trio left the place as women in the family also came out of the house. Few minutes later, Nazim came and took Abid with him to a nearby area.

"Arif and Asif were present there. They threatened Abid by showing him knife but he remained adamant and again refused to accompany them. Nazim and Asif held him and Arif allegedly stabbed him with a knife. After sustaining stab injury Abid ran towards his in-law`s house and fell in front of it," Jaiswal said.
