Rourkela: Three persons involved in looting train passengers were nabbed by the Government Railway Police personnel from Kalunga area on the outskirt of the city, GRP sources said.

Acting on a tip-off, the GRP personnel arrested the trio on Monday night and seized gold ornaments worth about Rs 10 lakhs from them, the sources said.

One gold-smith of Kalunga market was also arrested for allegedly purchasing the stolen gold ornaments from them.

The three have been involved in several thefts of luggages of train passengers and have been eluding the arrest.

They were also involved in looting of Rs 50,000 cash from a local micro finance company in Birmitrapur area during last week, the sources said.

The three arrested were identified as Md Daulat, Nur Ali alias Muna and Bibek Sinha alias Raki -- all belong to Kalunga area while the goldsmith was identified as Ajaya Sahoo.
