Malkangiri: Three hardcore Maoists were arrested in Malkangiri district even as two senior members of Kalimela Dalam of the outlawed CPI(Maoist) could manage to flee, the police said.
The ultras arrested from Batiguda forests in Kalimela police station area were identified as Bhima Padiami, Deba Madhi and Ganga Sodi of Rajolkanda gram panchayat area.
However, two senior Maoist leaders like Damodar and Akash of Kalimela Dalam could manage to escape from the site, Malkangiri SP Anirudha Singh said, adding that two fire arms, some posters and dress used by Maoist cultural wing, were seized.
The personnel of special operation group (SOG) and District Voluntary Force (DVF) nabbed the trio during a combing operation inside the jungle, SP said.
