Bhubaneswar: In a major breakthrough, the Aska police on Friday arrested the prime accused in Seragada crusher unit death case from Karanjei village in Ganjam.

The accused identified as Subash Sahoo, was arrested for burning eight persons alive on April 30.

Earlier, nearly 100 people were detained by the police for interrogation.

Meanwhile, the State Home Secretary had also asked the DIG (Southern Range) and Ganjam SP to submit a report on this incident.

In the primary investigation, the police had suspected the involvement of around 200 people in this gory incident.

The DIG (Southern Range), R K Sharma had said that there were frequent altercations between locals and the crusher unit owners over the last two months as the former have been objecting to blasting in the area.
