Mumbai: Indian Flute maestro Pandit Ronu Majumdar on Friday paid tributes to Bollywood`s first superstar Rajesh Khanna by playing the actor`s hit numbers on flute.

On the eve of his 47th birthday, well-known flutist Majumdar paid a tribute to Rajesh Khanna along with the hundred children of National Association for the Blind (NAB) here.

He played hit songs in memory of Khanna including - `Agar Tum Na Hote`, `Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana`, `Mere Sapno Ki Rani`, `Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli`, among others.

"The smile on Kaka`s (Khanna) face has always inspired me. He was a star on screen, but off-screen he was a humble, soft-hearted human being. Whenever I listen to his hit song, `Agar Tum Na Hote`, I still feel his existence. His presence has always been pleasant," Pt Majumdar said.

Pt Majumdar has been in the field of music for the last 35 years. Khanna breathed his last on July 18.
