Whether it is cricket or on road, helmet is always for safety. Well, this seems to be the latest mantra used by the Odisha State Transport Authority (STA) to create awareness on helmet use.
The STA on Thursday shared a video of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Avesh Khan’s much-talked about helmet throwing incident in one of the matches of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).
Avesh Khan was reprimanded for throwing away his helmet after taking the winning run against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) during an IPL match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday.
Avesh admitted to level 1 offence 2.2 of IPL’s Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. Sharing the video of Avesh Khan, who flung the helmet, the STA tried to impart road safety lessons taking a cue from the IPL.
“Helmet in cricket and while riding two-wheeler is for your safety. Respect it or else you might end up paying fine,” tweeted STA while sharing the Avesh Khan’s video.

In another tweet, the STA created awareness for not driving vehicle under the influence of alcohol. In a tweet, STA said that, “Alcohol reduces the ability to see distant objects by 25%. This weekend and otherwise, do not mix Drinking and Driving. Allow Life to Thrive, Don't Drink & Drive.”
