Body of constable found in pond in front of police station in Keonjhar

Body of a constable was found in a pond in front of Nandipada police station in Koenjhar district under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday.

The deceased cop has been identified as Pradeep Naik, a resident of Kendrapara.

According to sources, Naik was recently transferred from Keonjhar district headquarters to Nandipada police station.

However, his body was found floating in a pond located in front of the police station on Tuesday morning. 

On being informed about the incident, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and fished out the body.

Meanwhile, police have sent the body to Anandapur hospital for post mortem and launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of death.

Though the exact reason behind his death is not known, the death of the constable just a day after joining has raised many eyebrows.
